Steve Plunkett concentrates his practice on health care and complex insurance defense litigation in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Steve does a great deal of litigation work for self-insured entities and for the firm’s insurance company clients. He has defended hundreds of cases involving bodily injury to or the death of residents in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities, and bodily injury claims arising out of automobile accidents and accidents on premises. Steve also represents corporations when they are sued for their employee’s sexual misconduct.

Steve is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. He is the Vice Chair of DRI’s Law Institute which is responsible for the creation and direction of 23 annual seminars. He is a past chair of the DRI Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee and has previously served as the chair of the Long Term Care subcommittee of the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee. At the Law Institute, he oversees the creation, planning and implementation of annual national seminars on health care law.

Steve also has spoken nationally on issues facing long term care facilities and has published many articles on civil practice and procedure. He is admitted in state and federal courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth and Tenth Circuits.
