Biography
Andrew has more than 35 years of trial experience representing a spectrum of clients in commercial, construction, and employment litigation, as well as personal injury claims.
As an accomplished litigator and a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Civil Trial Law Specialist, Andrew has tried more than 60 jury trials in Minnesota and Wisconsin state and federal courts, also representing corporations, organizations, and individuals in appellate courts, and arbitration and mediation venues. He currently represents a multi-billion-dollar global retailer in general liability matters, a multinational information technology company in products liability matters, and a number of Minneapolis night clubs in liquor liability matters. Andrew also represents commercial and residential property owners and condominium and townhome associations in construction and premises liability matters as well as claims arising under the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act (MCIOA).
Andrew is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Representative Cases
- Represented family of man, killed in a police altercation, in a civil rights matter. Court found that officer was not entitled to immunity; fact issues surrounding objective reasonableness for use of deadly force and malicious wrong existed.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of private liberal arts college in construction litigation and premises liability dispute; affirmed on appeal.
- Defended aircraft ground handling company in an employment dispute seeking injunctive relief and damages stemming from claims involving non-compete, interference, and conversion; request for injunctive relief denied on all counts.
- Represented nightclub owners in a large insurance coverage dispute involving a property damage claim which caused nightclub to fail, resulting in favorable recovery for nightclub owner.
Additional Representative Cases
- Obtained appellate victory on behalf of employee terminated for refusing to comply with employer’s illegal tip-sharing requirement. The Minnesota Supreme Court held that Minn. Stat. § 177.24, subd. 3, provides a cause of action with broad remedies to an employee terminated for refusing to increase the amount of his tips shared with other employees. Burt v. Rackner, Inc., 902 N.W.2d 448 (Minn. 2017).
- Obtained verdict on behalf of a homeowner against the City of Lindstrom in a complicated sewer water/home damage dispute; Compensatory damages and attorney’s fees awarded.
- Successfully represented several employees in an invasion of privacy case that arose from their being compelled to simulate sexual conduct while under the influence of hypnosis at a work function.
