Class action lawsuits involve many players, which makes for especially complex trial procedures and logistics. Managing all of it requires deep knowledge — a knowledge we have built over the years handling cases in throughout the country. We have extensive experience in every aspect of these matters — from the detailed investigation process, to the ins and outs of trial and appeal, to the creative approach sometimes needed to reach a resolution that meets parties’ expectations. Most importantly, we are regularly on both the plaintiff and defense side of these cases, so we truly possess experience in all aspects of this complex practice.

We have served as lead counsel as well as on trial teams in cases of all shapes and sizes. We work and coordinate with attorneys nationally, giving us a unique perspective on how to anticipate challenges, streamline strategy, and craft resolutions that meet the expectations of diverse parties.

Representative Cases

  • Served as liaison counsel to a proposed class in a multidistrict class action involving the National Hockey League, obtaining a ruling denying a motion to dismiss.
  • Representation of major health care organization as part of a large-scale multidistrict federal class action litigation related to a cyberattack and infiltration of an internet security vendor.
  • Served as local counsel in a class action involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act that was settled on favorable terms.
  • Representation of collection agency on appeal, obtaining a decision reversing a federal district court order granting class certification on claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Powers, 776 F.3d 567 (8th Cir. 2015).
  • Defense of national credit insurer, favorably resolving a nationwide class action involving hundreds of thousands of claims.
  • Served on the law and briefing committee as part of the leadership team in the Imprelis Herbicide Liability Litigation, venued in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in which plaintiffs obtained a multi-million-dollar settlement on behalf of a nationwide class. In re: Imprelis Herbicide Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litig., 2:11-md-02284-GEKP (E.D. Pa. 2012).
