Kyle Willems to Present at Contractors’ Summit

Bassford Remele Construction Practice Group Co-Chair Kyle Willems will present “How to Solicit and Respond to Bids with New Laws and Contract Changes to Duty of Good Faith and Fair Dealing Update” for the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota Summer Mini Summit on July 17, 2024. Kyle’s presentation will focus on:
- Changes to requests for proposals and bidding processes;
- Minnesota’s New Retail Delivery Fee;
- Central Specialties v. Minnesota Department of Transportation: The Implied Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing in Construction Contracts; and
- Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless v. Department of Commerce: The United States Supreme Court tosses out “Chevron deference” and the Impact on the Construction Industry.
Kyle Willems is a litigator who primarily practices business and tort litigation. His business litigation practice mainly focuses on the real estate and construction sectors, where he guides clients through construction defect, mechanic’s lien, contract and quasi-contract, and commercial disputes. As a tort litigator, Kyle concentrates on complex cases that involve wrongful death, serious bodily injury, and substantial property damage. Kyle is a member of Bassford Remele’s board of directors and its Diversity Equity Inclusion Team.
