Biography

Kelly Benson is a dedicated attorney focusing on trust and estate administration and probates. She is known for delivering personalized and effective solutions and has compassionately guided hundreds of families through the complexities of managing and distributing a deceased person’s assets, including farm, ranch, and closely held family business assets. Kelly handles both routine and intricate matters with care and precision, ensuring each client’s unique needs are met.

Kelly’s legal career began as a legal secretary while completing her undergraduate studies at Indiana University. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska, where she also met her husband, Travis, a fellow Husker law student and attorney at Bassford Remele. After three years as a Law Clerk in Minnesota, Kelly and her family moved to South Dakota where she served as in-house Legal Counsel, Lobbyist, and Director of the Office of Marriage, Family and Respect Life for the Diocese of Sioux Falls for 15 years, which provided her crucial knowledge and experience to work with families during some of the hardest times of their lives.
