Biography
William Brunner focuses his practice on construction and real estate disputes and commercial litigation. He helps contractors and other project stakeholders clearly present and resolve complex claims arising from residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects in South Dakota, Minnesota, and throughout the Upper Midwest.
William regularly evaluates project records—including schedules, plans, technical specifications, pay applications, and field reports—to assess claims and defenses and confirm they are supported by the underlying documentation. He drafts pleadings, written discovery, and motions, and prepares for and conducts depositions of key fact witnesses, including corporate designees, in construction and related commercial litigation matters. He is licensed to practice law in South Dakota and Minnesota.
William brings a detail-oriented, collaborative approach to advising contractors, owners, and other construction participants, and is committed to helping clients manage risk and achieve successful project outcomes. He has experience with construction, contract, insurance, and civil procedure issues across multiple jurisdictions.
William graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as student director of the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Moot Court. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Creighton University.
