Wynne Reece, Casey Marshall and Aram Desteian Present at Business Law Institute

Bassford Remele Shareholders Wynne Reece, Casey Marshall, and Aram Desteian will present at the 2024 Business Law Institute. Wynne Reece will present “Choice of Entity and Business Formation – Governing Laws, Structures and Key Governance Issues.” Casey Marshall and Aram Desteian’s session is “Ethics: Conflicts of Interest in Representing Closely-Held Businesses.”

Wynne Reece represents businesses of varying sizes, corporations, creative entrepreneurs, professional entities (such as law firms, mental health practices, or dental practices), and individuals, in a variety of commercial matters, including general structure, client relations and disputes, investor growth strategy, buy-sell agreements, mergers, acquisitions, intellectual property (e.g. trademark, trade dress and copyright), real estate, team structure compliance and mediation.

Wynne is uniquely situated when representing clients, as she has started two businesses and successfully transitioned both of them. She understands the challenges facing business owners and corporate executives and the investment that many make into their business from an emotional and physical aspect, as well as a financial one. This is evident by her inception of The Creative’s Counsel® in 2015 which focuses on making legal work accessible, with relatable counsel; to date Wynne has worked with over 1,800 clients in an outside counsel capacity.

Casey Marshall is a litigator who represents corporations and individuals in commercial disputes, and navigates families, businesses, and individuals through trust and estate conflicts. Casey is active in the trust and probate section and the business law section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He is on the Board of Directors of the Twin Cities Estate Planning Council. Casey is chair of the Bassford Remele Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group, co-chair of the Trust and Estate Litigation Practice Group, and serves on its Board of Directors. 

Aram Desteian represents businesses in complex commercial litigation, and also counsels and defends other lawyers against a spectrum of professional liability claims. His commercial litigation practice includes representing businesses in a wide range of business disputes. As a professional liability attorney, he regularly helps other lawyers prevent and navigate lawsuits, investigations, board proceedings, and hearings involving legal ethics, legal malpractice, and other areas relating to the law of lawyering. Aram is Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Professionalism & Ethics Section and serves as Bassford Remele’s General Counsel.
