Accomplished litigator expands firm’s intellectual property practice
Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Christopher A. Young has joined the firm as a shareholder, expanding the firm’s intellectual property practice and strengthening its ability to serve clients in high-stakes IP litigation, complex commercial disputes, and technology-related matters.
Chris brings more than 25 years of experience guiding clients through intellectual property litigation and complex commercial disputes involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and cutting-edge product liability theories. He represents companies ranging from emerging innovators to Fortune 500 corporations, helping clients protect valuable business assets and navigate technically demanding litigation.
Chris has represented clients in venues nationwide, including state and federal courts, federal appellate courts, and the International Trade Commission. His experience spans all phases of litigation, from fact and expert discovery to dispositive motion practice, trial strategy, and appeal. His track record includes complete defense verdicts in first-of-their-kind product liability suits, favorable resolutions in patent infringement matters, and plaintiff-side recoveries exceeding initial demands.

He works closely with in-house counsel and business leaders to align litigation strategy with broader business objectives, whether the goal is early resolution, risk mitigation, or trial.
Chris earned his J.D., with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from Buena Vista University. He also holds a Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Certificate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
