Sara Wilson
Experienced real estate, business, agribusiness, trust and estate, and professional liability attorney brings transactional and litigation depth to the firm
Bassford Remele is pleased to announce that Sara Wilson has joined the firm as a shareholder. Sara represents clients in both transactions and litigation, with particular depth in matters involving real estate, business, agribusiness and agriculture, trust and estate, and professional liability defense.
Sara advises clients on complex real estate and business transactions, governance and succession planning, financing, and disputes that require practical judgment and strategic advocacy. Her transactional work includes assisting clients with the purchase, sale, leasing, financing, and development of real estate; resolving title, zoning, and environmental matters; supporting business formation and governance; guiding succession planning; and preparing loan documentation for commercial lenders.
With her agribusiness and agriculture experience, Sara understands the legal and operational considerations that shape land use, commercial relationships, ownership transitions, and risk management. She also counsels families, fiduciaries, and other stakeholders in trust and estate matters, combining litigation experience with a thoughtful approach to planning and administration.
In professional liability defense matters, Sara defends attorneys and accountants in malpractice claims and related disputes, drawing on her litigation experience and practical understanding of professional standards, client service, and risk management.
“Sara brings a valuable combination of transactional insight, litigation experience, and industry knowledge that will benefit clients across several of our core practice areas,” said Jessica Klander, President of Bassford Remele. “Her depth in real estate, agribusiness, trust and estate, and professional liability strengthens the practical, business-focused counsel we provide to clients.”
Before becoming an attorney, Sara worked at the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum as a registrar, a role that required creativity, collaboration, precision, and careful project management. She brings those same qualities to her legal practice, helping clients navigate complex matters with organization, perspective, and a focus on practical outcomes.
Sara earned her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, her Master of Public Affairs from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, and her B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
