Wynne Reece to Present at the Hon. Jimmie V. Reyna IP American Inn of Court
NEWS
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the Bowbeer/Sandeen/Scobie Pupilage of the Hon. Jimmie V. Reyna Intellectual Property American Inn of Court will be presenting on “Beautiful Things: A Discourse on the Application of IP to Designs”, featuring Professor Christine Farley (American University Washington College of Law). Hosted at the American Swedish Institute, with the incorporation of interactive design discussion, this engaging curriculum will explore the intellectual property protections—and limitations—applied to iconic furniture and home décor, and examine design patents, copyrights, and ethical considerations in balancing artist and manufacturer rights.
Bassford Remele shareholder Wynne Reece is part of this pupilage and will present alongside Rachel Scobie (Merchant & Gould Partner) on the practical implications of negotiating design, manufacturing, and sourcing contracts. Attendees will enjoy a private viewing of Ann Wolff: The Art of Living before the social hour, and one lucky guest will win a private sauna rental from Nomad Sauna—but you must be present to win! We are looking forward to learning alongside our colleagues at this event.
Wynne Reece represents businesses of varying sizes, corporations, creative entrepreneurs, professional entities (such as law firms, mental health practices, or dental practices), and individuals, in a variety of commercial matters, including general structure, client relations and disputes, investor growth strategy, buy-sell agreements, mergers, acquisitions, intellectual property (e.g. trademark, trade dress and copyright), real estate, team structure compliance and mediation.
Wynne is uniquely situated when representing clients, as she has started two businesses and successfully transitioned both of them. She understands the challenges facing business owners and corporate executives and the investment that many make into their business from an emotional and physical aspect, as well as a financial one. This is evident by her inception of The Creative’s Counsel® in 2015 which focuses on making legal work accessible, with relatable counsel; to date Wynne has worked with over 1,800 clients in an outside counsel capacity.
