For more than 140 years, Bassford Remele lawyers have counseled and represented clients in the full spectrum of litigation and dispute resolution. The names of our founders and past leaders can still be heard in our hallways today: the Bassford, Snyder, Jamison, Montgomery, Richards, Heckt, Lockhart, Truesdell, Briggs, Steenson DuFresne, Blazevic, and Keenan conference and work rooms are open daily to our clients, as they have been since 1882.

Among Bassford Remele alumni are luminaries of the bar. In 1893, one of our founders was appointed to the Judiciary, and since that time, many have followed him to the bench, including the Honorable Carol Hooten, the Honorable Regina Chu, the Honorable Kathryn Davis Messerich, and the Honorable Mary Steenson DuFresne. Our touchpoints to the judiciary continue to serve as invaluable resources.

RECRUITMENT AND ADVANCEMENT

Bassford Remele's formal Recruiting and Mentor Programs support recruiting, developing, and retaining talented, diverse attorneys. The firm participates in the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference, sponsored by Twin Cities Diversity in Practice. We offer work-life balance supportive elements, such as employee benefits packages that are friendly to a spectrum of lifestyles and life circumstances.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Through leadership roles, memberships, and sponsorships, Bassford Remele proudly partners with many professional organizations, bar and affinity associations, and community agencies dedicated to furthering diversity and inclusion causes. Bassford Remele supports the diversity initiatives of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, and its lawyers are actively involved in groups such as the Minnesota Women Lawyers and others. Our pro bono and community involvement initiatives support our diversity and inclusion work.

ADVOCACY GROUPS

Tubman

Through the Pro Bono Safety Project at Tubman, an organization that helps women, children, and families struggling with relationship violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues, our lawyers and paralegals provide representation to victims of domestic abuse. We proudly assisted in the establishment of this program many years ago.

Federal Pro Bono Project

Bassford Remele lawyers connect with underrepresented individuals through the Federal Court bench by providing initial legal consultations, and at time more lengthy representation to pro se litigants.

The Advocates for Human Rights

Bassford Remele lawyers represent immigrants seeking asylum in the United States.
