Bassford Remele Welcomes Five New Attorneys

Minneapolis, Minnesota - October 3, 2024 - The Twin Cities law firm of Bassford Remele announces the additions of Michael Chapman, Nicholas Prola, Benjamin Formell, Marshall Hall, and Megan Tilton. 

Michael Chapman is an experienced litigation attorney who focuses his practice on defending corporate clients, attorneys, and law firms in the consumer finance arena. In addition to litigation, Michael provides compliance and auditing services to collection agencies. He also practices in the areas of commercial collections, insurance defense, and products liability, and manages litigation nationwide for corporate clients. Michael is licensed in Georgia.

Nicholas Prola, also an experienced litigator, focuses his practice on consumer finance defense. Nicholas advises organizations on privacy and data security issues and defends related regulatory and class action claims. He acts as outside general counsel to entities in the ARM space, providing guidance on compliance with state and federal regulations, policies and procedures, contracting, vendor management, employment issues, and litigation. Nicholas is licensed in Illinois. 

Benjamin Formell is a litigation attorney, focusing his practice on business and commercial litigation, trust and estate litigation, construction, and employment. Benjamin has worked on several business disputes in both state and federal court, where he has obtained favorable results for his clients. He graduated from the Duke University School of Law, where he gained practical experience by participating in Duke’s Wrongful Convictions Clinic and the Duke DC Externship Program, which he spent as a law clerk for the United States Senate Judicial Committee. After law school, he served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Louis A. Bledsoe, III of the North Carolina Business Court. Benjamin is licensed in Minnesota.

Marshall Hall is a litigation attorney whose practice includes data breach and cybersecurity, business and commercial litigation, construction and real estate, employment, and professional liability. Marshall holds both the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States and Certified in Cybersecurity certifications, which allow him to provide comprehensive legal solutions in information security, data privacy compliance, incident response, and cyber risk management. He served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and an Assistant District Attorney in Western New York. Marshall is licensed in Minnesota and New York.

Megan Tilton is an attorney who focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation, consumer finance defense, construction, and corporate matters. Prior to joining Bassford Remele, Megan was involved in litigating complex insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts nationwide. She graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she gained valuable experience through internships in various legal fields, including civil, transactional, and military law. An active participant in Texas Tech’s nationally ranked advocacy program, Megan earned multiple awards for her excellence in both writing and oral advocacy. Megan is licensed in Texas.
