Biography
Holly Lechner is a litigator whose practice focuses on medical and health care liability, lawyers’ professional responsibility, and intellectual property litigation. She represents health care providers and facilities in medical malpractice and other professional liability matters. In addition, Holly works on matters involving legal ethics and attorney professional responsibility.
Holly’s health care practice includes defending physicians, other health care professionals, and health care facilities in medical malpractice and professional liability matters. She assists clients throughout the litigation process, including case investigation, pleadings, discovery, expert development, legal research, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation. Holly approaches each matter with curiosity and careful attention to the medical and legal issues involved, working to understand her clients’ circumstances and develop thoughtful, practical defense strategies.
Holly also advises on lawyers’ professional responsibility and legal ethics matters. She has assisted with attorney discipline and professional responsibility issues, including researching ethical questions and preparing responses and submissions in disciplinary proceedings. She is particularly interested in the intersection of professional obligations, legal ethics, and the practical realities of practicing law.
Before joining Bassford Remele, Holly practiced in the intellectual property litigation group of an Am Law 200 firm. Her experience included investigating infringing websites and domains, developing enforcement strategies, drafting pleadings and discovery, and participating in Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings. She continues to draw on that experience in her current litigation practice.
Holly is committed to providing clients with thoughtful, candid, and effective representation. She believes that excellent advocacy requires more than a strong understanding of the law—it requires sound judgment, careful preparation, intellectual curiosity, and an appreciation for the perspectives and priorities of the people involved. She strives to approach each matter with integrity and to earn the trust of her clients and colleagues through the quality of her work and her commitment to their interests.
Holly earned her J.D. summa cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2023. During law school, she served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and received the Burton Award for Excellence in Legal Writing and multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, including awards for Business of IP, Trademark Law, and Intellectual Property Litigation.
